ELDT Across State Lines — FAQ
Yes. ELDT is a federal FMCSA requirement under 49 CFR Part 380 — the curriculum, the 80% passing standard, and the Training Provider Registry reporting are identical in all 50 states. What varies by state is the licensing side: permit fees, testing locations, and any extra state rules for specific endorsements.

The FMCSA allows theory online nationwide. A small number of states layer extra requirements on specific credentials (School Bus is the usual example — some states add their own training or checks). Your state licensing agency has the final word on state add-ons; the federal ELDT theory itself is fully online-eligible.
